For WEB
"Oh
what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive!"
Sir Walter Scott
Beautiful
women, a triple homicide, suspense, intrigue and enough plot twists
to make a pretzel. J.P. Mercer must have a new novel.
When a
spider weaves a web, it has many strands. Some lead straight to the
center, some lead off of the web and the others are distracters
intended to confuse the prey until the spider pounces. Mercer's Web
is like that. There are multiple motives for the murder that cross
and crisscross until the reader can't be sure which one is leading to
the truth and there is always a nagging sense that the spider is
about to pounce. Mercer shows that women who seem to have no
relevance to each other, through the right series of circumstances,
follow paths that intersect in unpredictable ways. This is a book
with plenty of action, suspense and a touch of romance; one that is
compelling and may make the reader want to finish it in one sitting.

For TALON
This
newest book is by far the best thing from J. P. Mercer yet. Her
characters are in precarious personal situations and draw strength
from each other, despite their own personal reservations. It would be
hard for a reader to avoid falling in love with these women. They're
strong, beautiful, full of angst, and passionate. This is certainly
one book no one should miss.

This
is indeed a must read for anyone who enjoys a solid mystery with a
well-developed romance!!!
This is the first and only book I
have read by this author, so it may be rather premature of me to say
this, but I will anyway. Based on this work alone, I sincerely feel
J.P. Mercer is currently the finest writer in this genre. There is a
maturity to her writing that I don't see in many other widely-read
authors.

J.
P. Mercer has combined some of the best suspense techniques of Robert
Ludlum with a story of women who have suffered significant wounds in
their lives. Reading this book is similar to watching blockbuster
movies like the Mission Impossible or Bourne series. Talon is also a
passionate story about two women with love scenes that scorch the
pages, but don't let that put you off if you aren't gay. Above all,
this is a great adventure book. You're going to want to have read it.
And then tell your friends about it.

J.
P. Mercer writes an excellent thriller, full of unpredictable twists
and turns. She also (unlike Robert Ludlum) creates characters with
real emotional resonance. I read Talon in a single sitting; I
couldn't put the book down. An excellent story that would make a
terrific film.
